2K Games Announces Spec Ops: The Line

This article is over 14 years old and may contain outdated information

2K Games has announced its next title for the 360, PS3 and PC will be Spec Ops: The Line.Spec Ops: The Line is a third-person shooter based in Dubai. But Dubai isn’t as we know it today. No, instead its a city that’s buried in sand after a series of aggressive sandstorms which has left the place barren and empty. We’re not quite sure what you’re fighting, and don’t really believe that bullets are the most effective way to battle sandstorms, but 2K’s Christoph Hartmann believes it’s another title which “incorporates all of [2K’s] gameplay values.”By meeting these core values, I’m confident that Spec Ops: The Line will be a great experience that people will enjoy playing for years to come,” he said.So a little more about the game? Well, it’s a shooter, based in Dubai, city is smashed by sandstorms, and the whole place has pretty much been evacuated after these sandstorms. A U.S. Army Colonel and his squad are stuck in this city after they tried to help the evacuation process. Your task is to find him and his squad, and get them out alive making some pretty tough decisions along the way, like if the sand is too yellow for you, or too hot for your feet.Maybe it’ll change before it’s released in 2011, but we can expect to hear more about it soon. And if you’re interested in finding out more about this, then check out the official site here.I’m off to find a camel.
