2012 BAFTA Videogame nominations

The shortlist for the 2012 BAFTA Video Games Awards has been made public, with L.A. Noire and Batman: Arkham City taking top billing with eight nominations each. 
Second in line are Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and LittleBigPlanet 2, each with six nominations. Skyrim and Portal 2 both have five.
L.A. Noire, Batman: Arkham City, Fifa 12, Portal 2, Skyrim and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will go head-to-head for the coveted ‘best game’ award. 
The voiceover category will be more hotly contested than I’ve seen in the past, Andrew Stanton (Cole Phelps, L.A. Noire), Stephen Merchant (Wheatley, Portal 2) and Mark Hamill (Joker, Batman: Arkham City) all worthy of the nod.
Winners will be announced on 16 March.
