Steam Chat is now live for everyone

After a period of beta testing, Valve has now officially launched the new Steam Chat.

The new chat system is very similar to Discord in functionality and it’s also as easy to use. It comes with an easy to access friends list which can be sorted and it also allows for in-line video, pictures, and tweets making it easy to share stuff like your favourite cat pictures and videos.

It’s now also easier to initiate a live chat session and I’ve been using this a lot during beta for my Quake Champions game sessions. In essence, if you prefer to use Steam over Discord then the new Steam Chat is worth a look and it does mean you don’t need another app to deal with for game playing,
