Destiny 2 PC will not launch 8 September

Quite a rollercoaster of a news day for anybody interested in Destiny 2 on PC; the latest is word of a delayed release. It had previously been assumed the PC version would be coming on 8 September alongside console versions. Not so, say Activision.

The spectre of a delay was raised by Geoff Keighley, who couldn’t get a straight release date answer out of Bungie at today’s event. It was also a little ominous that Blizzard’s FAQ about Destiny 2’s appearance on Battle.net danced around the launch date.

Activision representatives have now confirmed that the PC version of Destiny 2 does not have a release date at present. That could mean a delay of a couple of weeks while they make sure the PC version lives up to its promises of uncapped framerates, 4K support, and the like. Or it could be the prelude to a very lengthy gap between console and PC releases.
